doesn't matter whether you're the dumpee or the dumper it still feels bad. Yesterday I broke up with my boyfriend and he said the most awful things imaginable. So I broke and smashed every single thing he gave me and i was going to mail these things back and I realized that I ws sinking to his level, I'm ashamed of doing so and thankfully I came to my senses just threw the things away in the dumpster.
